La semana del trece de junio (week of 6-13)
On Friday (6-10), your homework was to study. If you didn't yet, you should check your packet under Wednesday of last week's lessons. If you look at last week's lessons (go to the previous lessons tab above), I attached two helpful objects underneath Friday's lesson plan the practice we started in class (so there are extra practice questions as we didn't get through them all) and a guide to how many of each type of question will be on the exam.
This week you will need your "libro" (book) todos los dias. WE ARE TURNING IN OUR BOOKS ON TUESDAY OR WEDNESDAY.
Work not completed in class will be tarea.
This is a reminder that as stated in my syllabus, I do not give credit for late work. Homework not turned in at the beginning of class when it is due, will receive 49%. However, homework that was turned in on time (and complete) may be redone for a better grade.
Tarea means homework. Examencito means quiz.
Spanish symbols: ¿áéíóúñ
lunes (Monday) --Necesitas un lápiz y un libro para leer si terminas temprano. You need a pencil and a book to read if you finish early.
All students will eat lunch first and come for the exam at 10:55 - 11:44.
Yo puedo presentar mi examen.
I can take my exam.
We want to start as quickly as possible, so find your spot and stand behind your chair.
DO NOT TOUCH THE FOLDERS AS THE EXAM IS UNDER THE FOLDERS.
We will all start together.
Tarea: study for tomorrow's portion of your exam. Tomorrow you need your Spanish book, and again, a book to read when you finish and a #2 pencil. We may have time to turn in our Spanish books after tomorrow's exam. Grades are complete: any last minute re-dos are due by Wed.

TODAY IS OUR LAST DAY OF SPANISH CLASS. We will come at our regular times.
We will celebrate with music, reflections on the year, and maybe some mystery awards. And maybe a Spanish game.
For our reflections, we will figure out what we want our summer project to be for my 7th graders that will be back in 8th grade, so you continue to practice Spanish throughout the summer.
Some ideas:
teach your siblings or friends how to play Simon dice in Spanish, practicing with affirmative informal commands.
practice counting things in Spanish with your siblings.
Go to a Mexican restaurant where they speak Spanish and order in Spanish.
Get together with other friends who have had Spanish class and try to have a conversation, or call them and talk in Spanish.
Listen to more of Emir's songs or do the fill in the blank song activity and try to understand what they mean.
Keep a journal of the weather, including writing the high and low temperature in Spanish.
I also need to collect your Spanish books today if we didn't yesterday.

jueves (Thursday) --No hay español. Es mediodía.
No Spanish today. Have a great summer!
viernes (Friday) --Es el primer día del verano. :) ¡Disfruta!
(It's the first day of summer. Enjoy!)
Below is the idea we came up with for our summer project to practice Spanish before Spanish 2:
Ideally, I want everyone to practice Spanish this summer, and below are some suggestions. Whether you turn something in for the extra incentives or not, I hope you practice this summer.
If you choose to write a brief sentence for each of 10 items you do throughout the summer, you can earn 2 get-out-of- homework-free cards or a 10 points to add to participation when you need it card. If instead of doing 10 individual items you want to create a big video project, such as a Spanish weather forecast or a Spanish song that you made up, that can be worth your 10 points. If you have any questions on your project, feel free to email me at my school address. I will try to check it about once every week or two during the summer. I also listed a few project ideas below with the daily ideas. Doing a project as a group may not be worth as much, depending....
If you want to go above and beyond, the most credit you can earn is 4 get-out-of-homework-free cards or 20 points to add to participation when you need it, or a variation of your choice for doing 20 daily items or two big projects on your own.
Additionally, a project idea might be to create a large Quizlet to review key terms for me to post for future Spanish 1 students to use.--Email me if you want to do that, and we can figure out your topic. This would need to be completely correct for me to post it.
