--Spanish 2 Tarea (hwk) y planes 2018-19
updated 6-1
To make sure everyone has time to finish, everyone will come to class at 10:25 on Thursday so if they need to stay late, they stay into a bit of lunch instead of their next class.
Speaking sections are the same as listed below.
updated 5-22
The students will be taking their final exams the week of June 3.
We picked random for who is doing the speaking sections on each day:

Tuesday: D.D. and M.R; A.T. and C.N.
Wednesday: T.U. and N.L; H.K. and S.H.

I just sent an email to parents about next week's midterm exam. Students should be on track and ready. I talked with everyone on Monday to see where they were, and they all assured me they'd be where they needed to be by Monday for the exam.
They need to complete unit 31, lessons 1-10 and the first 3 lessons of midterm preparation. We will have a quiet environment for them. Monday and Tuesday my other class will be working silently in the lab and Wednesday and Thursday they will be working silently in the room.
Both classes will start at 10:25 next week so they won't be late to their 4th hour class if they need more time. The lunch lady has agreed to hold lunches.
MONDAY AND TUESDAY THEY WILL START AT 10:25 IN LABS 130 AND 131. WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY THEY WILL START AT 10:15 IN THE ROOM.
UPDATE 1-13
Final exam for the first semester is the week of 1-14.
Due to the field trip that some students will have on Tuesday, they need to be ready for the final by Monday January 14th. I will have my other classes go to the lab on Monday (1-14) - Wednesday (1-16) for silent practice, and I will have the Spanish 2 kids spread out in the lab to take their final exam. I think 3 or 4 days should be sufficient as they can come to class up to 15 minutes early on Tuesday and Wednesday, and on Thursday (1-17), the teachers will dismiss them at 10:10 to join us in the commons (I will have laptops there) from 10:15-11:15 while the Spanish 1 students are taking their exams. If they need extra time that day to finish, the lunch lady has agreed to feed people even if they are done later than 11:15. If they finish their exam early, they should be able to start working on their second semester online class.
UPDATE 12-11
Unfortunately, the system seemed to still be down for maintenance on Monday when it was supposed to be done by Sunday. I talked to your teacher, and this is what she said:
If there is a technical problem, you can always contact the service station (in the upper right hand corner of their classroom page) or at this link: https://fueled.force.com/servicestation/s/create-case
There you can chat, call or send in a case.

As I work part-time, I will be here for conferences on Tuesday 11-20-18 for both the afternoon and evening conference times. I look forward to meeting your parents.

All the Spanish 2 students now eating first. Their class is from 11-11:40, and they punch in and out on punch clock to hold them accountable. Although I teach straight from 10:25 - 11:45, I am able to help them if they have questions after my classes. If they have any questions, they should stay after and I will help them at 11:45 when my class gets out, and I will give the student a pass to arrive late to their next class. (This has been approved by Dr. Neuhoff and Ms. Spahich.
As for grades, you can always see their performance on their account if they access it from home on the Peak program. However, I am also entering the percentage they have earned on Peak every few weeks. It will say as of ______ on the top of each entry. Some students are behind on their progress, and to let you know that, I have marked their assignment as late, so it is flagged for you. I also put in the comments if they are at, behind, or ahead of progress. The next time I mark their progress will have the new as of date, and if they are no longer behind schedule, it will no longer be flagged as late. Likewise, if they fall behind in progress or continue to be behind in progress it will be flagged as late.

Peak is up and running. I am your mentor for this class and am able to see your progress. Still check in every day with me quickly before working on your Peak class.

Remember to check in with me daily for attendance.

This Monday, 9-10-18
Spanish 2 students should check in with me for attendance, turn in their expectations sheet and homework and then see Ms. Spahich in the computer lab across the hall as she will get you set up on some Spanish practice sites. We are still figuring things out.
UPDATED 9-5-18
--We are figuring things out...I found out on Tuesday that Spanish 2 is going to be an independent study on computer as there seemed to be too few kids available to do a class after school for either Spanish 1 or Spanish 2.
The plans right now are that the Spanish 2 students will be in my room during lunch working on their independent study.
If they have Spanish questions they can ask me during passing or email me as I teach throughout the whole lunch period.
For this first week or so until we get the program running, they will do the school expectations and learning with the Sp 1 class as review is always helpful, and Spanish 2 typically starts with review. I sent home the Spanish 1 expectation sheet with the Spanish 2s as both classes have the same rules in my room. Please mark Spanish 2 on your sheet.
To know what is going on in class, they will use the Sp 1 link. I will not be doing a separate Spanish 2 link as it will be independent study.
However, since I already made up these plans when I thought I would have 3 classes, the Spanish 2 kids are free to practice with the links I have listed anyway. as well as any of my other.
la semana de tres de septiembre:
lunes el tres
No hay clase todavía. Es el día de los trabajadores.
There isn't class today. It's Labor Day.
martes el cuatro
No hay español todavía. Es mediodía.
There isn't Spanish yet. It's a half day.
miércoles el cinco
Today is the first day of class. We will receive and go over class expectations and play "¿Cómo te llamas? papa caliente" (What is your name? hot potato)
tarea:
homework: Fill the clear bag I give you today with three non-breakable items, or pictures of items that you like that use vocabulary you learned to say last year in class and make sure you know how to say me gusta or me gustan with the item or items in Spanish. Remember: A mí me gusta(n), A ti te gusta(n), A él (ella, usted) le gusta(n), A nosotros nos gusta(n), a ellos les gusta(n) and you use gusta for singular items or before infinitives (non-conjugated verbs) and use gustan in front of plural items.
Also, if your item is a noun, you need to put the article (el, la, los, or las) in front of it anytime you use gustar.
Some pictures could represent two sentences. ex. a picture of books can mean Me gustan los libros. o Me gusta leer.
Study some of the links to study gustar listed under weblinks: Put your mouse over the website links tab above and choose Spanish 2 links. Scroll past the online textbook instructions to the Gustar links. There are a lot of them. Let me know if you do not have internet access and I can make you a list to create your own flash cards.
Go over your Expectations Packet with your parents at home and have them sign it. (The signed expectations sheet is not due until next Monday in case you don't have time to work with your parents until the weekend)nd)
jueves el seis
trabaja de pareja: Muéstrale a tu vecino tus cosas de tu bolsa. Tu vecino necesita decirte que te gusta. También, tú necesitas decirle a tu vecino que le gusta.
partner work: show your neighbor the items in your bag. Your neighbor needs to tell you what you like (using te gusta(n). Also, you need to tell your neighbor what he or she likes. Again, using te gusta(n)
preguntas del día: ¿Cómo te llamas? y ¿Qué te gusta?
questions of the day: What is your name? and What do you like? Only in Spanish. They need to show you their item, and you say Ah, te gusta(n) ________. And they say, Sí, me gusta(n) _________. If they show you the item and you don't remember what it is you say ¿Qué es? (if it's singular) or ¿Qué son? (if it's plural)
tarea:
homework: Write out 3 sentences using the personal a telling what people in your class like using your question data from today. See above and your notes from today if you need a reminder of the rules for gustar.
Example, if Juan likes swimming your sentence for Juan would be A Juan le gusta nadar.
You will need your bag of likes again tomorrow, and I would like the bag back to use again later.
