Enjoy your break and remember your sentence project is due Tuesday January 7. We will be playing a scavenger hunt game with the sentences in class on Tuesday, so it needs to be done on time.
Here is the Frosty in español link if you want a turn in late card...you cannot use it to turn in Tuesday's sentences late though as we're playing the game on Tuesday with our sentences. Remember you need to write 2 sentences in English and Spanish from the Frosty movie using the captions to get the card: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LurphiCm7XQ
I also added the Quizlet assignment that is due January 13th if anyone has free time over break and wants to work on it early.
If you want to practice with the English sentences we translated to Spanish on Wednesday and Thursday, the English PowerPoint is below:

la semana del dieciséis de diciembre (The week of December 16th)
The midterm exam will be the 15th of January, from 10:03 - 11:10. Your other teachers are going to let you leave class at 10 so you have over an hour to work on your 100 question exam. Make sure to study what I mentioned in the email to all--I've sent 2 as some said they didn't see the first one.
We will have a 10 point quiz on AR preterite very similar to the Quizlet that was due on Dec. 16th on Wednesday. Use the Quizlet and your verb cards from class as a study guide.
I have posted a new code for the AR Quizizz if you'd like to use it to study for Wednesday's test, or to study over break. It will not expire until Dec. 29th at 11:30 pm: 432126
The plans for the week include a link to Frosty the Snowman in Spanish. If you watch it in Spanish over break and write two of the Spanish sentences from the captions and translate them, you can earn a turn in homework late for full credit card.
The instructions for the public diary sentences that are due Tuesday after break are posted below my plans.

la semana del nueve de diciembre (The week of Decembber 9th)
There was a 10 point quiz on Tuesday, Dec. 12.on demonstrative adjectives and comparison sentences. The results are posted on PowerSchool. You needed to know key vocabulary from chapter 8-1 from the Quizlet as well as the new terms we will worked on in class last week and with the Quizlet that was due on Monday the 9th.
I will not be here Friday, so you have a Quizizz to complete by Monday. You have up to 5 minutes to complete each questions, so don't rush. As always, I will take your percentage divided by 10 + 1, so if you do it perfectly you will earn 11/10 points. You have to know how to conjugate the verbs correctly in the preterite, but you should also make sure you understand the whole sentence. It is in English and Spanish for you.
This QUIZIZZ is due by Monday, 12-16, but you can work on it during class on Friday with your sub. However, if you do not have a sub for some reason, it is still due on Monday.

la semana del veinticinco de noviembre (The week of November 25th)
If you do your homework Monday night, you won't have any homework for the rest of your break. It's a shorter Quizlet than usual, but you have to do Flashcards, Write, and a test of 80% or better. Some people finished it already as I posted it last week.
I will be here for conferences on Tuesday afternoon and evening.
Have a great Thanksgiving!

la semana del diecinueve de noviembre (The week of November 19th)
Remember we are recording our skits and putting them on SeeSaw on Monday, and you have to watch them all and do your notes for Thursday. Do a little each night, don't try to do them all on Wednesday.

la semana del once de noviembre (The week of November 4th)
Our chapter 7-2 test skits will be created and performed this week.
Here's our schedule, and see the PowerPoint below:
Monday, we are doing quick notes on a song and then everyone writes the skit that your group comes up with. Use pencil or double space so errors can be fixed on Wednesday. Write neatly as someone else will be reading it on Wed.
Tuesday, we will do a quick Hazlas based on your notes from the song on Monday and you need to finish your skit. Your rubric should be out so you are making sure you are following it.
Wednesday, everyone will check someone else’s skit, making sure they followed the rubric. They will have to write info from your skit for their Hazlas. You’ll have time to fix your mistakes and time to practice.
Thursday, groups will have 5 minutes to practice, and then they will record each other’s skits and upload them on SeeSaw. I'm hoping we will have time to watch all of them and take notes so you can finish your notes by Monday by watching them online if you need to. However, we may need to watch them in class on Monday and finish your notes by Wed.
The HAZLAS that is due today includes 11-7 (if you were at the activity, you need to get the questions from last week's PowerPoint--the questions are on our skit notes from Halloween week), 11-8, 11-12 and 11-13
Friday is only a half day, so you won't have Spanish, but you do have a Quizlet that is due on Monday as always. You will either need to finish your notes on the skits by Monday or Tuesday, so this would be a good time to watch the skits on SeeSaw and take your notes. Remember the notes sheets are part of your test grade.

la semana del cuatro de noviembre (The week of November 4th)
THIS IS THE WEEK THAT HAS THE RULES FOR VOWEL SOUNDS AND VIDEO EXAMPLES FOR PRONUNCIATION...SEE THE POWERPOINT BELOW.
The Hazlas that are due this Thursday include Hazlas from Wednesday and Thursday last week. If you need to find them, they are under the Spanish 2 Q 1 tab above. Wednesday's are in the PowerPoint, and Thursday's are posted separately as you had to write the 5 sentences with new vocabulary from our day of the dead music video activity. (use your notes from the day before).
Dia de los muertos is celebrated in Mexico and by Mexican American's in the US on November 1st and 2nd. The DIA in Detroit has an ofrenda (or altar) exhibit through November 10th. I didn't get to mention it in class due to our technical difficulties and having to switch rooms, but information is in the cool free things to do tab above. Also, under the more tab above, you can see recipes for bread of the dead if you'd like to try and make it and to share it with the class. If you make it and bring it in to share with the class, you can earn a EARN FULL CREDIT FOR LATE HOMEWORK card.
Below is the first week of Quarter 2's PowerPoint.
The students who will be at their leadership meeting on Thursday will still have to do the Hazlas from Thursday, and they are listed on the PowerPoint below. I UPDATED THE POWERPOINT ON THURSDAY.
I also uploading the RUBRIC you will get tomorrow for next week's skit for your chapter 7.2 test.
